David and Sierra (David's daughter)
My brother David graduated from the Police Academy last night. The ceremony was nice they had a judge speak which was nice and of course there were other awards. There were so many people there and of course we were one of the last to arrive so we had to sit way in the back and I didn't get real good pictures of the ceremony.
David got two awards he got one for shooting he had a record of 99.7% accuracy. WOW!!! But with his background he had better get that award. He also tied for the award for the Practicals. He and another cadet (a girl) tied at 99%. That is pretty darn good for a 40 year old man going up against a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings. He said about 60 people started the academy and there about 28 people that graduated, this paticular academy is supposed to be the hardest in the state.
The class leader, the one who scored the highest in the class overall, spoke and said this was the hardest 6 months of her life and I think David feels that way too. He has been through many training camps and boot camps and has probably endured harder class and PT training but the politics involved at the local level seem to be much worse.
David accepting his Graduation Certificate
Only 8 or 10 of the cadets in his class have received a job and David was not one of them. He is applying and will hopefully find one where is not too far to drive. He definitely has an impressive resume.
Anyway, CONGRATS TO MY AWESOME BROTHER I COULDN'T BE MORE PROUD OF YOU!

Congratulations David!
What an awesome brother you must have!
I couldn't be prouder of my big brother! I have already got him three job offers! One in Vermont (a little to far for any of us) and two in Oregon) - if only Genice would move here so he could take one of the Oregon ones! The politics is very ugly there, glad to see he took two awards-that will show those jerks who didn't think he was "good" enough!
Way to go DAVE - you kicked butt, just like I new you would! Congratulations!
Wendy
