This is the Babysitter, Kayla (left) and our assistant Sarah (right)
The view from our hotel room on the 28th floor looking at on to the San Diego Bay. Ean and Jim couldn't get enough.
After a 5 and a half hour drive home yesterday we finally made it home. The weather was so nice in San Diego (79 and breezy) coming home to the valley is killer. As we came off the Grapevine at 5:00pm the thermometer on the car said it was 110 degrees. OUCH!!!
We had a good time over all. Four days is long enough to be gone with a baby a babysitter and an employee but everyone got along good and had fun.
We went down there Wednesday and just got checked in and went to dinner. That is where the first pics are taken. Also right outside the hotel was a HUGE shopping center. A lot of different shops and restaurants. We walked through there a little bit that night.
Thursday we had meetings all day and Kayla stayed in the room with Ean they played and ate room service and she did great with him and he really likes her. Thursday night there was a Hawaiian party and then a live Auction to raise money for the Political Action Committee and Jim got a little carried away. (will save that story for my next post). We were able to get Ean to sleep before we went to the party so I had a really good time knowing he wouldn't have to go to bed without us there. We didn't get back until late but still got up early Friday.
Friday was a great day at the convention. There were a lot of great speakers and then Friday afternoon there were a bunch of parties. The parties were great because they give you all you can drink and eat for nothing. Then we went to a very nice dinner and got to get all dressed up. Ean stayed up LATE that night since we didn't get him to sleep before we left. Saturday we were able to sleep in and had breakfast together and got packed up and headed down to the Trade Show then to head home.
We left San Diego about 2pm and had bad traffic the whole way until we hit the Grapevine. We still made it home in good time but everyone was exhausted.
Ean had to test to make sure everything was still a NO NO that was before we left. Everything still was.
We are just hanging out today and getting our space back and getting acclimated to the heat, and will be heading back to work tomorrow. One note of good news is that the AC guys will be out tomorrow maybe we can have a cool house again.
I think we are going head out and get an AC filter and some Cold Stone Ice Cream.
I will be posting Jim's purchase at the auction and the story tomorrow.
Happy to be home!

Can't wait to hear about the auction! Glad everything went smoothly. Hope everything goes well with the AC
Glad to see you are back. What a beautiful view.
Don't be too hard on Jim for getting carried away at the auction! I was in a bidding war two years ago for Eric Clapton's guitar...if I had won, I doubt there would have been any payroll for the following two months for any of us! lol
Can't wait to hear about the auction...who won the Beach House...(doubt Jim bid on that since it is always free to family and some friends)...how much money was raised, and what Jim 'had to have'...lol.
Hope it wasn't a giant Christmas tree like Inge got several years ago!
Glad all are home safe and sound, and by the way...we're keeping Tommy.
