SAHM = Superhero

I always knew I DIDN'T want to be a stay at home mom when I grew up, but this past week I got to prove it to myself.

A week ago (Monday last week) our Nanny "fell" down the stairs. Just so happened it was the same day Jim scolded her for the third time about being late and she texted him that he was an A-hole. So when I say "fell" you will know why. Anyway, on Tuesday after "falling" Monday she wanted to go to the doctor, so at 3:30pm last Tuesday I came home to be with the kids so she could go. That night at 9pm she texted me again and told me she is pregnant and the doctor wanted her to be off the rest of the week. Since Jim was working in Tulare I had to be home with the kids and my sister helped one day while she was here. So I really came to know what it is like for me to be home with the kids every day all day. I don't really care for it.
It was so hard. Ean has been treating me like crap lately. He defies everything I say, throws the biggest fits and simply doesn't listen. I try to do things I think he would like and still he fights with me. Ben wants me to hold him all of the time. If I walk out of the room, he cries, if I put him down he cries, YIKES, that is a bad habit for him to be in. I guess if I was home all the time and had a certain routine it would be better.

I had a revelation though... I promise to give more respect to those who are stay at home mom's and to give my new nanny a bigger break if something doesn't get done on any given day.
BTW- We fired our old nanny and we hired Kristen. Our babysitter who we promised not to steal from the daycare, she ended up giving her notice anyway and we scooped her up.
Third times the charm, right?

We went on our Wine Trip on Sunday. It was awesome!!! We met some great people and had a really great time. It totally cracks me up to watch profeesional, well educated people go totally off the deep end when given unlimited alcohol, limited food, and nervousness of being around new people. You know who you are and YES you will be invited again. LOL! Here are some pictures below, if you want the whole slideshow, email me, if you don't know my email call me.

From right to left (Wendy (my sister), Will (her husband), Janet and Mat (friends)

A crappy picture of me and Jim (I need a new camera)

Miguel and Sonia (friends)

***Explanation needed

At the last winery they had hats and wigs to try on and play with, so after going to three other wineries everybody got a little "loose", it was a crack up.

Jim is the one coping a feel, then Mat, Miguel and Wendy.

Me, striking a pose!

I'm so glad to hear who your new nanny is!!! I bet the boys are thrilled! You look so pretty in your "posed" picture. Jim makes a good redhead.

I don't know how you Working mamas do it ;-)

I think third time is a charm. The Ben thing holding thing I get. All of the kids have been like that. My friends used to say well at least you don't have to chase your 18mth old at peoples houses like we do. The defying thing I've only had in little spurts here and there. I'm sorry he is in that stage right now. Hopeully things will be getting better. Ditto the working Momma thing. One of my friends just started working 4 more days versus her one and her whole life is turned upside down. She is still adjusting after 3 months. I can barely manage on the days that we have classes outside home, to get stuff done. I hope you can now FINALLY relax some with all of the new changes.

Congrats on the new Nanny. Like Lisa said, maybe the third time will be a charm.

As for the wino tour...I feel waaay left behind...but glad you had fun and lots of laughs.

Although I stayed home from work the longest with you (seven months) and didn't have that choice with David and Wendy, I knew I wasn't a Stay at Home Mom when I finally got one of my Associates on the phone and talked for an hour without shutting up...and until she said,

"Hey Linda, I just think you need some adult company...". She was right. It's a dilemma all right and I completely understand where you are coming from.

I haven't been on the blogs lately, but want you to know I loved the 'dancing Ean' and all the other Blogs I just finally read.

Now, back to the grinder...to grind out some more coffee for the Hogfather's new coffee clatch.

Uh back to the defying thing. Colby is at it BIG time. Got any ideas? Well its not so much defying, just being really picky and crying all of the time when things don't do what he wants, like his pants legs or socks, or toy. Whatever he is dealing with.

I was looking at Ean dancing again...ever consider auditioning him for the "Soggy Bottom Boys" band? lol

Hey, Lindsay, it's Janet here...just wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU for organizing the whole wine trip and dealing with all the winos!! We had a great time and everything you planned was great fun! I hope you and Jim have a nice Thanksgiving tomorrow; is the celebration at your house? We're having my family here, so fun, fun! Take care and see you soon!
P.S. I may have sent my email to you when Greg was over here with the guys, did you get it? That 'blackberry' thing was all new to me, so I probably messed it up!

There are many days I would kill to go back to work - being home with the kids is the hardest thing I've ever done, lol!!! Great pictures!
