Progress

I have had tons of calls for the nanny position and have been more picky about who gets an interview. We had our third interviewee today and Jim and I liked her so much we set a time right then to do the second interview tonight. The second interview consists of her coming and visiting at the house with all of us and the kids. We try to be distracted so she can interact with the kids on her own and we sit back and watch. She seemed really good with them and interested in them. We all had a "good feeling" about her.

At one point Jim and Dawn pulled me aside and suggested we have her start tomorrow. Of course that is totally against my nature and I hesitated, but with our present situation I thought what the heck. I gave her a copy of the work agreement, all 10 pages, and told her to look over it and if she felt comfortable that we would like her to come tomorrow and get started with Jackie still here. She can have Jackie's help tomorrow and Thursday and start on her own Friday. Since I am going to Oregon with the kids next week and Dawn made other arrangements she will only work a couple of days next week and then will start on a routine the following.

As not to jinx it, I will wait on the details about her and the picture for a couple of days. I really hope this works out well. I like we have learned some things to look out for and have covered those things very carefully.

I am not relieved yet, and probably won't be for a while. I think I will constantly be waiting for the dreaded phone call saying "I quit". I just want this to work so bad, I know it is better for the kids. Ean has learned so much from having that one on one attention and focus. He sings songs and can do and say so much more than he did, just from these past three weeks.

I have been so terrible about pictures with the camera, I haven't even taken one in weeks. The only picture of the either of the boys is quit a while ago when Ean made a crown with Jackie.

I will try and get better. Ben is doing some major tricks now and I need to get those on video. He can, pull himself up to standing on things, clap, dance, and wave. He is awesome. I can't believe I am already having to plan for his first birthday.

Anyway, I am going to go, I have been fighting a nasty "smokers" cough (no I don't smoke but that is what it sounds like) and I have to take Nyquil so I don't keep my poor husband awake or bug him so much he sleeps downstairs, which he seems to do a lot.

Don't even think the word "jinx".
Your good always comes when you EXPECT IT.

I'm glad things seem to be turning around! I can't wait to see videos of Ben showing off his tricks. I miss your little guys so much... I think you'll need to come visit soon so Ean can sing while Ben shows off his new skills.
