OUCHY!

Sorry for not updating on our Doctor appointment yesterday.

Poor litlle Benjamin didn't know what he was in for when he got up yesterday morning. We took him in at 11:15am, the doctor strapped him to a hard plastic mold and tied down his wrists and legs and started cutting on the most delicate part of a male's body. Thank goodness he will not remember this day.

He did pretty good, Jim and I did not stay in the room to witness this torture but when we were called back he was still strapped down screaming bloody murder with little pitiful tears running down his cheeks so that was awful enough to see. After the doctor showed us how to care for the "wound" and I got his diaper on I swooped him up began rocking him and telling him "I know, I know" when Jim reminded me that "NO YOU DON'T".

All in all he did ok the rest of the day. For the first hour or so he would scream everytime his lowers body moved which I figured meant his litlle thing was hurting but once he took a nap he was fine and it hasn't bothered him to change his diaper or anything.

Anyway, now Benjamin looks like his dad and brothers in that area and won't know any different, and that worry is all over for mom and dad.

Oh I hope Ben (Benjamin) feels better real soon. I bet even by now he is better. So you have a spirited toddler. Well at least there are hints to help with that. I hope they work.

These are the times when I am glad I am a grandparent instead of a parent, but I will never forget the day when my 'firstborn' was treated exactly the same.

As I heard his screams from the lobby at Dr. Clarks office more than 40 years ago...I bawled too.

I did the same whenever any of you had your shots and cried in shock and surprise at the sudden pain you felt...while giving me a look of 'betrayal' that seared my soul.

Time just can't erase the Trauma from my memory and I recall it everytime I hear another baby boy is getting circumcised.

Please Give a kiss to little Benjamin for Grammie, OK?

I am so glad that they made me stay in the waiting room for the whole thing! A nurse took Lucas from me in the waiting room and brought him back to me there. I didn't have to see him strapped down. He also slept almost the whole day. I dreaded changing his diaper each time cause I was scared I would hurt him. So glad that is over!
