In the 5 and a half years Jim and I have been together we have never run into eachothers ex-partners, until the last few weeks and today.
About a month ago we went to a funeral for Jim's friend Danny's Grandmother, Danny just happens to be Joni's (Jim's ex-girlfriend) brother. Of course she was there so I got to see what she looked like up close and in person. WOW- talk about a flash back to the 80's. I thought that "feathered" hair-do and tight pants went out 15 years ago, anyway I got a boost of self-esteem. Even being pregnant and 50 pounds over weight I felt I was a much better "prize" than she was. Besides she threw a fit at the funeral and left early because we were there. I didn't say much to Jim but kind of got a boost.
Well today we went to a coffee shop down town and who else but my ex, Ryan, was sitting right in front. The meeting was somewhat cordial and I introduced Jim to him and they shook hands (as hard as either of them could) I imagine. Anyway, he is fatter than I have ever seen and going bald to boot. I was thinking to myself, "eeewww what was I ever thinking"? He is a little over 30 now I guess, but man he is definitely not what I remember. Jim didn't say anything, until I mentioned how fat he was, then it was all over. He said that he thought that but didn't want to say anything and no wonder I always tell him how sexy he is, compared to what I used to have.
I had to laugh since I was thinking the same thing when meeting, or actually seeing, his ex.
It is just nice to know after all this time we still want to be with each other and find each other more attractive than anyone before. WOW- how time changes perception!

We can relate to your post! We have run into each others ex's and always make fun of each other in the "what the hell were you thinking" way. It always makes me think of that Garth Brooks song "unanswered prayers"!
Thanks so much for the sleeping advice! I don't know anyone else who has used a crib! I was worried abiut letting him sleep with us too long. Curt's sister still has her 3 year old daughter and 11 month old son still sleeping in the bed with her and her husband!
I'm the jealous type. Good thing all of our exes are FAR away.
Is Ryan still living at home delivering pizza along with being fat and going bald?
Jim is adorable...and still our 'pick of the litter'...
...and of course, we KNOW Jim HIT THE LOTTERY when he got our BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER (inside and out) for his Bride.
